As a start-up company, Xiaomi had very limited capital and resources to develop products. Despite the limitations, how did Xiaomi's designers use design innovation to create packaging that met product and market needs? How do they optimize packaging costs through design and help Xiaomi products quickly gain users and market share?

Black People: You belong here
"The truth is that it is still uncommon for a black man or woman to be the founder of a global design agency. Up to now, I have kept a low profile because that’s my nature, but I want to say this loud and clear: Vault49 is co-founded by a Black Man".
In this presentation John will share his journey – starting with his beginnings in design, onto street art and then scaling a global agency. He will talk about the lucky breaks, the twists and turns, and his experience of being black in a white space.
John Glasgow is the Co-Founder & ECD of global design agency Vault 49 and is committed to encouraging cultural diversity within the design industry.
The Boredom of "Normal" Design
This presentation aims to highlight homogeneous tendencies in graphic design, and how the "play it safe" approach stifles fun and imagination.
